German tax advice for all taxpayers

German Tax Advice

Our Advice for All Taxpayers

Income tax, investment income, rental income and foreign income. We help you make the most of all your tax advantages - with checklists, transparent fees and personal advice.

We help you save tax

Tax questions become particularly demanding when several income sources come together or where specific planning opportunities are to be used. There is considerable potential in particular where rental and leasing income is concerned. Through optimal structuring, the correct allocation of costs and long-term tax planning, we help you to reduce your tax burden sustainably.

Forward-looking tax advice also makes sense for investment income, other income, international matters as well as inheritances and gifts, in order to take advantage of opportunities and avoid risks.

We rely on simple and efficient processes: structured checklists show you exactly which documents are actually needed. This avoids unnecessary effort and keeps the focus on what matters. Your documents are exchanged easily and securely via the cloud solution DATEV Meine Steuern.

Our areas of focus for all taxpayers

Four subject areas in which we most frequently advise clients - from a simple income tax return to an international inheritance.

Income tax return done properly

We prepare your income tax return in a structured and thorough manner - with individual checklists for employment-related expenses, special expenses, extraordinary burdens and household-related services. You submit your documents; we take care of the rest - including reviewing the assessment notice once it arrives.

Rental income and investment income

With rental and leasing income as well as investment income, tax optimisation is often in the detail - from depreciation and maintenance expenses to more favourable taxation of capital returns. We run the numbers for you, make the right applications and ensure correct declaration.

Foreign income

Whether as a cross-border commuter, expat or in the context of a secondment abroad: foreign income requires confident handling of double taxation agreements, the worldwide income principle and the progression clause. We declare your income correctly in Germany and coordinate with advisers in your country of activity where needed.

Inheritance and gift tax returns

Inheritances and gifts can quickly involve large sums - and therefore require the correct use of allowances, tax classes and valuation rules. We prepare the inheritance and gift tax return, review the assessment notices and, for larger estates, identify planning options for forward-looking succession arrangements.

Yes, especially if your tax situation goes beyond the standard, for example where you have rental income, investment income or international connections. Through targeted tax planning we can noticeably reduce your tax burden whilst at the same time providing peace of mind.

You save time and effort, as we use a clear checklist to tell you exactly which documents are needed and organise the exchange simply via DATEV Meine Steuern. We also handle communication with the tax authorities on your behalf and keep track of deadlines and queries.

Whether the advice is worthwhile in a particular case is something we are happy to discuss in a no-obligation initial consultation. This way you benefit from greater clarity, reliable financial planning and the reassurance of being in the best possible tax position.

As a rule we need your wage tax certificate, evidence of employment-related expenses, insurance documents, capital income and - where applicable - documents relating to rental income, pensions or self-employment. To make sure nothing is overlooked, we provide you with an income tax checklist tailored to your personal situation. This means you only need to collect the documents we actually require.

Fees are generally governed by the German Tax Adviser Remuneration Ordinance (Steuerberatervergütungsverordnung, StBVV). For typical situations we offer transparent fees so that you know in advance what to expect. In the initial consultation we discuss your personal circumstances and make you a binding offer - so there are no unexpected costs.

Once your documents have been received in full, we prepare the tax return promptly and submit it electronically to the tax office. The tax office's processing time varies depending on the federal state and workload, but is generally several weeks to a few months. We keep track of the process for you and check the assessment notice for accuracy once it is received.

Yes. Cross-border commuters, seconded employees and expats are among our regular clients. We are well-versed in the specifics of double taxation agreements, the worldwide income principle and the progression clause, and coordinate with colleagues abroad where necessary. This ensures that your affairs are declared correctly and in the most tax-efficient way in Germany and in your country of activity.

Incorrect assessment notices can be corrected within the one-month objection period. We check your notice immediately upon receipt, identify any discrepancies compared to the submitted return and lodge an objection if necessary. In most cases the matter can be resolved through a factual explanation to the tax office without further effort.
