Depreciable movable fixed assets that can be used independently may be written off 100% in the year of acquisition or production. This low-value asset (GWG - geringwertiges Wirtschaftsgut) threshold had stood at 410 euros (net, excluding VAT) for decades. The threshold has now been raised to 800 euros for investments from 1.1.2018 onwards.
